Good News Jail and Prison Ministry provides chaplains to prisons in the US and abroad. Each chaplain is responsible for raising financial support for the organization to cover their salary and general administration. This flagship brochure was developed to aid chaplains in the fundraising process. It’s a high-level piece with mission and vision statements, as well as stats on the impact of their work. The brochure functions as a conversational tool and leave behind for the chaplain to use in meetings with potential donors.
The brochure is compact and hand-sized, but the double gatefold opens up to arms length. There is a sentence that is spelled out on each panel telling the overarching story. Black and white images accentuate the brand colors and add to the timeless look and feel. My photos can’t capture the dramatic UV printing that is very striking on the front panel and softly highlights the background watermarks on the body pages. Fundraising literature and resources are so important to give staff confidence in their conversations with donors. A prospective donor can tell this brochure had a lot of time, energy and resources pour into it. I think it communicates that Good News takes pride in their work.
